Professor Jonathan Liu
Vice Principal (Academic)
Jonathan is the Vice-Principal (Academic) at London Churchill College with the oversight of all academic matters. He is an adjunct Professor with the University of Wales, Trinity St David where he supervises research students. He is the founder and Executive Dean of the International Business School in the UK and the founding Dean of the School of Management and Leadership, and Vice Provost at Elite Innovation College Cambridge. Jonathan is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ming-Ai (London) Institute and is responsible for the strategic direction of Ming-Ai.
Jonathan was the Dean and Professor of Management at Global Banking School where he had overall responsibility for several collaborative programmes with British universities.
Jonathan was Professor of Global Business Management at Regent’s University London, and Assistant Dean for Research, Scholarship and Engagement for the Faculty of Business and Management. He focuses and researches in Entrepreneurship, Venture, Heritage and Performance Management. He started his academic career as a lecturer at Aston University and moved to Middlesex University as a senior lecturer.
In 2002 Jonathan became Middlesex University’s Professor of Chinese Management and researched performance management and managerial development. He joined Newport University in 2006 and was their Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise as well as Professor of Management.
Jonathan is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Business Performance Management with Inderscience Publishers. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Islamic Marketing, Editorial Committee for Management at Foxwell and Davis Publishers and, book review editor of the Journal of Technology Management in China. Jonathan publishes extensively and has over a hundred articles and nine books published in subject areas relating to Business and Management. Jonathan is on the Council of the National Conference of Universities Professors, a Council member of the Universities China Committee in London, and an elected Council member of the British Academy of Management. He was the Chair of the Special Interest Group in Performance Management.
