National Student Survey 2024

The highly anticipated 2024 results of the National Student Survey (NSS) for London Churchill College (LCC) are now published and available on the Office for Student (OfS) website for public view, and the College is pleased to announce its exceptional performance in the recent National Student Survey (NSS) results, published on Monday 15 July 2024. The NSS gives students the opportunity to comment on all aspects of their experience at the College and the results are widely published and used by future students to make choices and by colleges or universities to improve the student experience. The survey is conducted by Ipsos Mori and is managed by the Office for Students. The survey asks respondents to rate the extent to which they agree with 27 statements grouped into 7 themes such as teaching on their course, the support they received from staff members and the resources they were given to support their learning. Students are also able to highlight any particular positive or negative aspects on their student experience. The NSS gathers students’ opinions on various topics, including quality of teaching and teaching materials, support services (including academic support and mental wellbeing support), assessments and feedback, student voice, learning resources and student’s voice. This is crucial to LCC for its continuous growth and enhancement as it allows final-year students to share their views on their experience at the College.

The results serve as evidence of the College’s effort and dedication to maintaining the best standards, showcasing significant achievements across various categories, reflecting the College’s commitment to offering the highest quality of education and support to its students. We know traditional exams are not always the best way to showcase the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in the working world, so have introduced more authentic assessments, testing learning using real-world scenarios and practical projects.

The National Student Survey results cut across various categories, showing the following areas where the College has performed excellently:

Compared to the sector, the College has shown a higher satisfaction rate, with at least 10.14% difference across all categories.

The College has also shown evidence of not only meeting the benchmark but surpassing all benchmarks across all categories.

In the College’ s ongoing effort to maintain high educational standards, the College will use the NSS results data as a resource to identify the key strengths and areas for continued improvement. This will enable the College to enhance student experience and strengthen its commitment to academic excellence.

Message from the Principal

I am delighted to share the highly anticipated results of the 2024 National Student Survey (NSS) for us, which have now been published on the Office for Students (OfS) website. We are pleased to announce our very strong performance in this year’s survey, reflecting our continuous efforts and commitment to providing a valuable student experience. The NSS provides students with the opportunity to share their views on various aspects of their experience at LCC. Conducted by Ipsos Mori and managed by the OfS, the survey encompasses 27 statements grouped into seven themes, including teaching quality, support services, resources and student voice. This feedback is instrumental in helping prospective students make informed choices and assists educational institutions in enhancing their services.

Since our last participation in 2021, the Principal’s Executive Group and all staff members have worked to ensure that our services meet the expectations of both the OfS and our students; I mention for commendation the Student Engagement Team particularly. The recent results are a result to our collective efforts. Notably, LCC has achieved a higher satisfaction rate compared to the sector, with a significant difference of at least 10% across all categories. Additionally, we have not only met but surpassed all benchmarks, evidencing our commitment to providing a top quality education and support for our students. In our ongoing effort to maintain high educational standards, we will utilise the NSS results to identify key strengths and areas for further improvement. This continuous feedback loop is crucial for enhancing the student experience and upholding our continued efforts for the student journey.

I extend my thanks to each member of staff for their commitment and hard work. Your contributions have been pivotal in achieving these outstanding results and will continue to drive our progress and success.
